Emote is designed to work without collecting personal information. We do not collect, store, or process any customer or merchant personal data.

To render reactions/emotes correctly, the app uses only the following non-personal identifiers provided by your Shopify store:

  • productId
  • articleId
  • pageId

No cart tokens, order details, customer identifiers, emails, IP addresses, or cookies are collected by Emote.

2. How We Use These IDs

  • To associate reactions/emotes with the correct product, article, or page.
  • To ensure the Emote widget functions as intended within your Shopify store.

3. Data Retention

Emote does not store personal data. The non-personal IDs listed above are used only transiently to serve requests. Any temporary caches (if used for performance) are short-lived and routinely cleared. If the app is uninstalled, any residual app data tied to your shop is removed promptly.

4. Data Sharing & Security

Emote does not sell or share data with third parties. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the service and prevent unauthorized access or misuse.

5. Your Rights

As a merchant, you can request details about any data associated with your shop’s use of Emote or ask us to delete shop-level app data that may remain after uninstallation.
